چکیده

An asymptomatic 75-year-old female with past medical history of percutaneous coronary intervention for angina pectoris was referred to our department for the management of left ventricular aneurysm which was pointed out on the follow-up echocardiography. Coronary angiography revealed no restenosis of the stent site, but 100% stenosis of a distal segment of the left circumflex artery that had not been detected previously. Transthoracic echocardiography indicated a defect of the myocardium 2cm in diameter in the posterior wall Aneurysmectomy and patch closure was performed successfully before rupture and the lesion was diagnosed as subepicardial aneurysm. Cardiac CT and MRI guide surgery in impending left ventricular rupture after acute myocardial infarction

We report the case of a 67 year-old patient who presented with worsening chest pain and shortness of breath, four days post acute myocardial infarction. Contrast enhanced computed tomography of the chest ruled out a pulmonary embolus but revealed an unexpected small subepicardial aneurysm (SEA) in the lateral left ventricular wall which was confirmed on cardiac magnetic resonance imaging. Intra...

Surgical Cryoablation of Drug Resistant Ventricular Tachycardia and Aneurysmectomy of Postinfarction Left Ventricular Aneurysm

Heart failure is usually associated with left ventricle remodelling, wall thickening, and worsening of the systolic function. Ventricular tachycardia is a common and a negative prognostic factor in patients with endocardial scarring following myocardial infarction and aneurysm formation. The authors present a case of a 51-year-old man with ischemic heart disease, who suffered myocardial infarct...

An Extraordinary Case of Silent Extensive Anterior Wall Myocardial Infarction Complicated with Giant Left Ventricular Aneurysm and Dressler Syndrome

Early post-acute myocardial infarction (AMI) pericarditis, pericardial effusion with or without cardiac tamponade, and late post-MI pericarditis (Dressler syndrome), are the major pericardial complications after AMI. It is quite rare and estimated to be only about 0.1% in AMI patients according to a recent report, so it is easily neglected or misdiagnosed and may have tragic result to patient. ...

Increased expression and regional differences of atrial myosin light chain 1 in human ventricles with old myocardial infarction. Analyses using two monoclonal antibodies.

BACKGROUND This study was designed to examine the expression of atrial/fetal-type myosin light chain 1 (ALC1) in human ventricles with old myocardial infarction and in control hearts. METHODS AND RESULTS The expression of immunoreactive (ir) ALC1 was examined in the subendocardial and subepicardial myocardium of the infarcted and the noninfarcted regions in the left ventricles with old myocar...

Management of a large coronary artery aneurysm with graft-coated stent during the acute phase of myocardial infarction

Coronary aneurysms in adults are rare clinical entities. Herein, we presented a 54-year-old man who was admitted with an acute extensive anterior myocardial infarction. The emergency coronary angiography revealed an isolated large aneurysm at the proximal segment of the left anterior descending coronary artery. The patient was successfully treated with a graft-coated stent
